In the highly competitive, fast-paced world of smartphones, the Nokia N8 has placed itself at the top of the heap. As cell phones have evolved beyond talking devices into all-encompassing media centers, it is more important than ever to find a smartphone that offers the latest technology in both functionality and entertainment. Smartphones today provide the viewer with so many options that a large, readable screen is vital. The N8’s impressive screen features a 3.5-inch, OLED touch screen display. Due to the fact that it supports over 16 million colors, wallpaper, pictures, video, and widgets appear more lively and bright than ever on the N8’s screen. A 12-megapixel camera is responsible for these colorful pictures and even someone who snaps everything they see can feel confident that there is plenty of room inside the phone’s 16 gigs of installed memory. This is expandable to 48 GB with a micro SD card. The camera has similar abilities to those of a standard point and click model. In addition to pictures, the camera is able to record video beautifully in high-def at 720p. An extensive editing suite allows for easy adaptation and manipulation depending on what the user wants to do. One major aspect of any video recorder is playback, and the controls found on the large touch screen are accurate and responsive. Nokia realized that there are more applications being created every day, and they designed the N8 to handle them. Owners of the N8 can stay on top of the latest news and entertainment with a dedicated Web TV application. Viewing sports and television shows in Dolby Digital Plus gives life to the picture not seen on many other phones. It even has the capability of connecting to a home theater system in order to view programs in unsurpassed video and audio. It is apparent that the N8 is an entertainment powerhouse, but its functional abilities surpass that of most smartphones on the market. The new Symbian^3 platform operates the device and innovations such as multi-touch and pinch-to-zoom are found on the powerful phone. Maintaining direction in unknown lands is easier than ever with free-for-life Ovi Maps downloadable at the Ovi Store. Best of all, these maps are supported in over 70 countries. Cell phone technology has moved even faster in recent years and Nokia has made sure to keep up with the N8. In fact, they have set a new standard with this sleek, new marvel. There is no doubt that this phone will be relevant in the coming years.

Showcasing the brand's new Symbian ^3 operating system, the Nokia N8 has a vast array of features that will tempt even the most dedicated Apple iPhone fan. At the forefront of the huge list of features offered by the N8 is a twelve megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and full 720p HDMI support for the recording and playback of home made videos. After recording and editing your movies via the handset's on board software editing suite, you will be able to playback your movies in the comfort of your home by using a non-standard cable connected to your television, but what makes it more special is the ability to output Dolby surround sound through the HDMI cable also. A standout feature of the Nokia N8 is the large 3.5" LCD display. It will support a resolution of 640 x 360 widescreen and will be able to display up to 16.7 million colors. Along with the touch screen system, it will also contain a compass, a proximity sensor, an ambient light detector and an accelerometer. There is a mass of available applications in the online Ovi Store which will enable you to do things like updating your social networking sites, such as your Facebook and Twitter accounts, including the ability to upload photos to Facebook and synchronize Facebook events with your phones calendar. Another feature of the Nokia N8 that has been well highlighted by Nokia's marketing department is the ability to watch Web TV from content providers such as CNN, E! Entertainment, Paramount and National Geographic. It is easy to see from the features stated that the Nokia N8 will be a very commendable contender against the likes of the iPhone and Blackberry.
